Being a photographer and an artist is not a contradiction. Even if everyone may understand something different by that. Fine art photography means freedom in image design, which does not necessarily have to correspond to the image of reality. Many classic criteria of photography such as image sharpness, the golden ratio, truthfulness of the image message, or the rule of thirds do not play such a big role in fine art photography. It is more about the vision and idea of a creative person, which is transformed into a photo (which is sometimes very complex to produce).
